Dear Parents, Students, and Visitors,
I want to take this opportunity and welcome you to the Colonial Forge High School Eagle webpage. I hope that you will find our site easy to navigate as well as extremely informative. I believe you will find our school to be filled with talented and excited students, coupled with wonderful and dedicated teachers and staff members focused on supporting those students.
As you explore our website, I think you will discover one of the goals at Colonial Forge is to provide a variety of opportunities for student involvement and for student success. Colonial Forge High School is extremely fortunate to have such a committed and caring staff. These fine professionals place the success of our students at the heart of every instructional decision. Our academic, extracurricular, and interscholastic programs are top notch. Programs such as AP, Dual-Enrollment, Career and Technical Education, student publications, fine and performing arts, clubs, activities and athletics provide our students with wonderful opportunities to develop their skills academically, personally and socially.
We are members of the Virginia High School League, offering 40 athletic teams and 3 academic teams that compete in district, regional and state competitions. In many instances, students may participate in three levels of athletic teams: freshmen, junior varsity, and varsity. We are very proud of our first Commonwealth AAA State champs, our Forge Wrestling team.
Student activities also abound at the Forge. Thirty-five clubs offer students a wide variety of opportunities to enrich their high school experiences while here. Our student publications - the award- winning "Molten Art", our literary magazine, "Apollo", our yearbook, and the "Talon", our school newspaper - allow our students an outlet for a variety of creative genres.
Our fine and performing arts programs are top-notch, competing at the highest level in both state and national divisions. Their fine performances have earned these programs the distinct honor of being designated a Blue Ribbon Honors music program for the past seven years. We also have an incredibly large and active Foreign Language program that hosts two international cafés, complete with great food and traditional music. Our student body organizations, including our Student Council, National Honor Society, Key Club, and Interact Club, are extremely committed to volunteerism and service as a means to further strengthen our community outreach. Learn and Serve students already enjoy tutoring and working with younger students at Winding Creek Elementary School and H.H. Poole Middle School.
In closing, I want to thank you for taking the time to visit our website. I hope this will be the first of many times that you will be spending with us over the next four years. Please make sure you check out our school calendar so that we can look forward to seeing you and your family at one of our many upcoming events.
